: Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 22, 2003, 07:25:20 AM Looking for anyone with the following last names!
McCumber, Mathias, Farlow, Frederick, Smith, Middleton, Reeves, Tucker, Johnson, Voss, Todd, Rhodes, Henson, Houk, Childress, Riddle, Spence, Perry, Wenneborg, Beasley, Kerns, Maxey, Boyer. Who am I forgetting? : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Mia Voss-Herren January 22, 2003, 09:39:45 AM Scott - this is perfect - thanks for setting it up....... ;D
: Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 22, 2003, 09:47:15 AM Credit goes to Brian Tucker. I'm just taking advantage of his board! And I think several people approached him with this idea: Jada, Rachel, etc. 8)
: Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : brian January 22, 2003, 11:48:24 AM what originally started me posting long ago on a different board was that age-old desire to reconnect with old friends, a sort of classmates.com thing - then i started learning about all the terrible things people had been doing all along in secret, and my overdeveloped hypersensitivity to injustice took over :-\
so, a quick update on me (so i don't end up emailing it 50 more times...). things i love include philosophy, psychology, programming, photography and traveling. i will avidly discuss any of these topics into the ground with little provocation. my avatar is a snippet from a sunset photo i took near charleston, il. i also enjoy studying history, particularly european (particularly hungarian) history. i have been married to a wonderful hungarian lady for almost two years. i enjoy playing with all things internet. i am a bit of a fish nerd, with rapidly-breeding guppies theatening to splash fish gunk all over my laptop if i don't clean their tank soon. for a fun diversion, take a few minutes to fill out a few of these on-line personality profiling quizzes: http://www.geocities.com/dan_atteberry/MYERS-BRIGGS_KEIRSEY.html the mbti is a respected, legitimate psychological tool for understanding yourself and others. every single friend of mine who took it has been amazed at how well it pegged them. my scores are usually intj, although sometimes i will get infj or intp in the right mood. so check out the above link, and take a couple quizzes. the longer ones give more accurate results. read some of the descriptions and see which one fits you best. and report back! its good clean fun for the whole family. ;D brian : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Jennifer Richardson January 23, 2003, 03:27:55 AM Hello all assembly kids!
Does anyone want to have an assembly kids reunion? I would love to help organize something so that we can all catch up with eachother. Maybe sometime this summer? Please contact me at littlewomanfivetwo@yahoo.com if you are interested. Good to talk to you Scott - did you get my eletter? Hope to from all of you - Jennifer (Smith) Richardson :) : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 23, 2003, 03:48:19 AM Hey, Jenn,
Working on the reunion. Put a lot of feelers out. So far all positive response. Dates, etc. might be the only snafu, but I'm sure you'll be willing to help, huh? ;D I'll be back for a couple weeks in June so that's a good starting point. Yes, I did get your letter. Could swear I responded! I'll check to make sure it went out and if not, I'll send it tonight. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Rachel January 24, 2003, 11:02:12 PM Do I get to count as a "Midwest Kid"??? I mean I know I have lived most of my life in California :'(. But I was born in Chicago, and lived all over the Midwest until I was four. Well I can't compete with all you for number of years lived there I have lived in more Midwest Towns them most of you, 8 in all. ;D Even Tim Sjogren used to allow me to be included as a midwest kid. ;)
: Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : psalm51 January 24, 2003, 11:09:45 PM Rachel,
Consider yourself included. ;) :D ::) :) It's whats in your heart not how many years you were there! ;) Love, Pat (your former babysitter) : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 24, 2003, 11:38:01 PM Rachel,
You know you are! Wasn't David born there? Even Ben Miller was born in Champaign, though I understand we probably won't entice him to any type of reunion. You are on the list of invitees to an Assembly Kid reunion tentatively set for June 21, 2003. Scott : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : missbt2003 January 25, 2003, 08:37:32 AM ;D Hey Rachel... I have you beat. I have lived in *9* different cities here in the midwest. (wasn't your record 8) I like the midwest, even tho it is humid and right now it is 4 below 0 with a windchill of -30F. BRrrrr... Ok, enough for my first post. Ta ta. Hi Bri!
: Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : OnlyJesus24 January 25, 2003, 09:01:05 AM Would this reunion include those who aren't quite grown up yet. i.e. me?
I think thats quite an idea to have a reunion. Would any former assembly kids say it was neccesarily harder growing up in the west coast than the midwest or the east coast? Just wonderin. Thanks. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 25, 2003, 05:18:22 PM Hey, Luke,
The reunion is open to anybody who wants to come. Kid/adult/former kid/kid at heart/adult wannabe/Midwest/West Coast, etc. Tuscola, IL/June 21 : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : auntiefluffy January 25, 2003, 06:22:07 PM Hi Jennifer! :D
Been a looooong time. I think since the coffee house concert at Jitters and Rush. Scott, where are you planning on meeting for the reunion? Park? Community building? Park might be nice. I will have to put that date on my calendar. jada : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 25, 2003, 10:54:49 PM Hi, Jada,
Nothing final, but I was thinking park so the Assembly Kids' kids would have stuff to keep them busy. "Peter Pan's got kids?" The Lost Boys in Hook Scott "Peter Pan" McCumber : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : brenhenil January 26, 2003, 09:29:58 AM June 21 is a wonderful day. As you are driving down Main street on your way to the Park, you can stop by my house and drop off my birthday presents. ::)
Brenda Henson : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 26, 2003, 10:25:52 AM Aunt Brenda,
Or even better, you can grab Tami and the grandsons and meet us at the park! Scott : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : brenhenil January 27, 2003, 02:16:01 AM Scott,
I will definitely work on that plan. Brenda : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : lemonlime January 27, 2003, 04:23:54 AM hey i wanna come! good question luke, i was thinking the same thing ;D count me in!! (after negotiations with my parents anyway)
: Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : auntiefluffy January 27, 2003, 06:00:05 PM Hi Brenda. *Ü*
Did Tami have her baby? Can't remember if she was due in Dec. or Jan. I saw her at Casey's when i went in to pick up a pizza. It would be great if she could come. blessings, jada : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : brenhenil January 28, 2003, 07:52:56 AM Yes, Tami had a boy, Brayden Kenneth. 9 lbs 21 inches long. He is a good baby. ;)
She is back to work, so you should be able to run into her at Casey's. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Robert E. Beasley January 30, 2003, 03:33:48 AM As for location, how about we set up a big tent in downtown Tuscola and all march there carrying signs and singing along the way?
Bob. P.S. Enjoy reading all your posts. Hope everyone is doing well. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : brad January 30, 2003, 03:59:22 AM Is that THE Bob Beasely Jr....PhD ? Great to hear from you...
Sounds groovey...but I must insist on wearing a white oxford long sleeved dress shirt and a nice polyester tie...not to mention finding my old 20lb Oxford King James Bible and holding shoulder height the entire time...! Oh, and NO ONE CAN SMILE...during our evangelism time. Of course Scott and I agreed earlier that we have to find and show the old scare the beeezzzeeessusss out of you "Tribulation" films on 16mm...so our kids can go sleepless for 3 years like we did ::) Remember that ? Cutting off the saints heads in the parking lot of the church? YIKES>>>> I think that was in a tent on Main and Sale Street when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Old fashioned days or something? : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 30, 2003, 05:35:11 AM Bob,
Hey, cuz! Wondered when you'd be on here! I was just planning on bragging on you and the boys tonight to some Assembly Kids (current) from the Midwest who are really into contemporary Christian. Then I come home and pull out my Tuscola Review and there you guys are on the front page. What's sad is my kids didn't know your kids. I told Austin you were "the cousin who could yo-yo!" He remembered that! Maybe we'll see you guys at the reunion? And maybe you'll weigh in on the board with some relevant history, experience and doctrine? ;D Scott : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : jesusfreak January 30, 2003, 06:08:23 AM Bob, Hey, cuz! Wondered when you'd be on here! I was just planning on bragging on you and the boys tonight to some Assembly Kids (current) from the Midwest who are really into contemporary Christian. Jars of Clay are touring in the area (illinois) in the middle of next month. If the Teen and Teachers conference falls thru, i will most likely be going to their concerts on both the 15th and 16th. Just a heads up if you are interested in listening to good CCM :) : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Scott McCumber January 30, 2003, 06:12:48 AM Luke,
Appreciate it, bro. However, I live in Florida! You ought to see my cousin (Robert Beasley) play with his FOUR sons aged 4 to 10. They all play instruments, sing, etc. A good mix of some classical secular rock and contemporary Christian stuff. They travel some on weekends and play at church's, etc. The name of the band is 4th Normal Form. I'm betting that makes more sense to you than to me! I'm going to look up their website for later. Very cool family! Scott : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : jesusfreak January 30, 2003, 06:49:53 AM Luke, Appreciate it, bro. However, I live in Florida! yeah....... :) : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : auntiefluffy January 30, 2003, 09:39:59 AM Of course Scott and I agreed earlier that we have to find and show the old scare the beeezzzeeessusss out of you "Tribulation" films on 16mm...so our kids can go sleepless for 3 years like we did {hope i did that right} :-\Remember that ? Cutting off the saints heads in the parking lot of the church? YIKES>>>> I think that was in a tent on Main and Sale Street when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Old fashioned days or something? Brad, this made me laugh out loud. I think i still have nightmares about that. ;D Just kidding. Those were hard to watch and if fear was the desired result, it was obtained. Guess we all have that memory in common. ;) Anyway, just wanted to say "hi Bob", "Congratulations, Brenda and Tami", and "park sounds great, Scott. Want to make this as easy as possible on everyone." blessings and peace, jada : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Robert E. Beasley January 31, 2003, 03:56:00 AM Hi again guys.
The boys and I will be playing in PA on June 21-22, so we won't be able to make it to Tuscola then. Then, we hope to travel down and perform in NC and FL. We'll see if the Lord opens those doors. Jada, missed you when we were in IL a couple of weekends ago. Saw your mom and Dick. How long has it been? 10, 15 years? How is Olen and the kids? Scott, didn't see you last time we were in FL (last summer). Mom & Dad hadn't heard from you for awhile then. Brad! Good to hear from you! Did we all have some great times growing up? Won't mention any names, but we all surely remember certain ones falling asleep during meetings, picking noses, etc. Someone was always making us laugh. I also remember, VERY EARLY ON, when we kids (i.e., Kerns, Maxeys, Beasleys, maybe you all too) got to sit on the stairs during meetings at the House of Promise. I also remember when we got to lay down on the floor during worship. ;D My favorite movies of the day? A Thief in the Night & A Distant Thunder. They were SO GOOD, man. Sooooo, how you say, seventiesville. Groovy! Never really lost sleep from them like some of you. I was a LITTLE older (maybe 12 or 13?). You all have my e-mail address, fill me in on what is going on in your lives. I'd love to hear from all you. Bob. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : auntiefluffy February 01, 2003, 08:09:29 PM Hi Mia! How are you? Where are you living? Married, children? We still only have 2 but are still praying and hoping for more. Olen and I celebrated our 19th anniversary this week and it doesn't seem like i should be old enough for that. ;)
Bob, i remember sitting on the stairs at the House of Promise, too. That was great fun......til we got in trouble. {which we always seemed to do} ;D Jennifer, sorry i haven't gotten back to you yet. We have been busy. Leah is still homeschooled and Ryan has been sick. He had bronchitis {sp?} for a week and then was well for a couple of days and now has started to relapse. rutsa frutsa. >:( So, time for antibiotics, which i don't like to do. Anyway....... give me another call if is don't get back to you soon. I'm not ignoring you, really. I DO want to talk to you. :) ok, waffle iron and waffle batter is ready and waiting for me in the kitchen and i have a daughter who is pacing. blessings and much peace to you all, jada : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : cindytodd February 02, 2003, 05:47:05 AM hey
there is a nasty rumor that someone has part of "Little Pilgrams Progress" play on film. and we sill don't know why any of the midwest kids did not make it BIG in Hollywood. soon to be for sale on ebay. ;D cindy : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : BIGDADDYQ February 02, 2003, 08:11:15 AM HELLO ASSEMBLY KIDS!! : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Robert E. Beasley February 03, 2003, 08:23:51 AM Wow! Is it really you Mark Voss? The one that told me you weren't used to driving cars that don't perform? I'll have you know I now own a van and it does NOT have a shift light.
Man would I like to sit down with you for a while and catch up. Hope all is well with you, bro. Bob. : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : auntiefluffy February 03, 2003, 05:56:10 PM "Oh Faithful, Faithful!!!!!" ;D
We have some pictures of this. I will scrounge around and see if i can find them. I remember working so hard on that play, but really enjoying it. Good times. ;) : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Mia Voss February 03, 2003, 10:03:22 PM Hey Jada! Sorry for the slow reply - I haven't been on the bulletin board in a few days. I'm in Denver - been here since 1995. Before that I was in NYC for 7 years. I'm married (4 years), no kids, 3 pets. ;D How & where are your brother & sister? Tell them I said "hello!"
Like Mark said, we should be there in June - won't that be a hoot???!!! Cindy & Kellie - can't wait to see you guys - it's been too long. Wish we could've been there for Thxgiving (we had a wedding in New York the week before) - Wil said he misses that cheeseball that Cindy makes - tee hee. Love & hugs to all, Mia : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : J DODORICO May 08, 2003, 02:38:57 AM I do not know if any one is interested but Josh Dodorico is getting married may 24 and if anyone who knows me is interested in coming to the STL to witness this awesome occason e mail me at besthands1@earthlink.net. This is my fiances e mail address but i check it a lot. I have been doing very well. I pretty much left the assembly 6 or 7 years ago because I was a outkast. I feel this was the lords way of protecting me. It enabled me to get out of the "shelter" and see the world for what it is.
I am planning on getting married then moving to florida where I plan to flourish with my dj service. Thats right I said dj service. I am living proof that this assembly could not completely stifle our natural musical talent. I used to dj at raves and partys a lot but just like everything else in the world that got old. So I decided to make my music have a meaning. I changed from techno and jungle to the sweet encouraging sound of christian reggae and hip hop. Well since i have done that all kinds of doors have been opening up. that is why I am moving to florida to pursue a ch ance to get on a MAJOR christian record label called lion of zion entertainment(do a search on the net and youll be pleasantly surprised) with my best friend who is also my best man. So if you guys or gals want to see me before i split get ahold of me through the net Peace, love and respect to all Josh Dodorico : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : VinnieGalati May 11, 2003, 03:36:07 AM Hey J. D.
IT's Vinnie Galati- You're old roomate. I didnt even know you were getting married. Your dad did not tell me. I dont know why. We talk often because of work. THat is awesome to hear Gods work in your life. I am truly blessed to hear and so encouraged. Wow, congratulations on your marriage. I have been married now for 3.5 years. My only regret is waiting so long to do it. Let me know more of your marriage details if you dont mind. My email is vpg100@aol.com. God Bless you real good. Say Hi to Luke for me too! VPG : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Robb May 28, 2003, 07:15:02 PM Everyone,
Great to hear from everyone. This is my first time on the bulletin board. Seems like everyone is doing great. Mark, Mindy, Mia - couldn't forget you guys, especially after the one time my parents went to California for a seminar and my brother and I stayed at your house & slept in Mark's room - kinda' a fond memory. Scott - like i posted to you, I tentatively plan to be there, depends on my three boys and my wife. But, if things get hectic with my 2 month old, I can always take him to my parents house to relax. My parents and Mike's family will be in Sarasota the week prior to the 21st. Post more later. :P : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Kirkman September 24, 2004, 09:47:15 PM I do not know if any one is interested but Josh Dodorico is getting married may 24 Josh, congrats. I assume you are a son of Rudy Dodorico (or at least are related to him somehow). I knew him from his occasional stint as the leader at the UMSL Bible study. I also knew his daughter (whose name now escapes me) who I believe married Daniel Grant. --Josh : Re:Midwest Assembly Kids : Nowyn December 15, 2004, 01:13:49 AM Nah, there was another Dodorico that was overlooked :) Gus Dodorico is Josh's father as well as mine.
Rudy has four daughters, one of which is married to Daniel Grant. Jennifer had a child last year if I remember correctly. Josh now has a child, Tirzah Joy Dodorico and lives in St. Augustine, Florida. |
