what originally started me posting long ago on a different board was that age-old desire to reconnect with old friends, a sort of classmates.com thing - then i started learning about all the terrible things people had been doing all along in secret, and my overdeveloped hypersensitivity to injustice took over  :-\

so, a quick update on me (so i don't end up emailing it 50 more times...). things i love include philosophy, psychology, programming, photography and traveling. i will avidly discuss any of these topics into the ground with little provocation. my avatar is a snippet from a sunset photo i took near charleston, il. i also enjoy studying history, particularly european (particularly hungarian) history. i have been married to a wonderful hungarian lady for almost two years. i enjoy playing with all things internet. i am a bit of a fish nerd, with rapidly-breeding guppies theatening to splash fish gunk all over my laptop if i don't clean their tank soon.

the mbti is a respected, legitimate psychological tool for understanding yourself and others. every single friend of mine who took it has been amazed at how well it pegged them. my scores are usually intj, although sometimes i will get infj or intp in the right mood. so check out the above link, and take a couple quizzes. the longer ones give more accurate results. read some of the descriptions and see which one fits you best. and report back! its good clean fun for the whole family.  ;D

Do I get to count as a "Midwest Kid"???  I mean I know I have lived most of my life in California :'(.  But I was born in Chicago, and lived all over the Midwest until I was four.  Well I can't compete with all you for number of years lived there I have lived in more Midwest Towns them most of you, 8 in all. ;D  Even Tim Sjogren used to allow me to be included as a midwest kid. ;)

I think thats quite an idea to have a reunion. Would any former assembly kids say it was neccesarily harder growing up in the west coast than the midwest or the east coast? Just wonderin. Thanks.

Yes, Tami had a boy, Brayden Kenneth.  9 lbs  21 inches long.  He is a good baby.  ;)
She is back to work, so you should be able to run into her at Casey's.

As for location, how about we set up a big tent in downtown Tuscola and all march there carrying signs and singing along the way?

Sounds groovey...but I must insist on wearing a white oxford long sleeved dress shirt and a nice polyester tie...not to mention finding my old 20lb Oxford King James Bible and holding shoulder height the entire time...! Oh, and NO ONE CAN SMILE...during our evangelism time.

Of course Scott and I agreed earlier that we have to find and show the old scare the beeezzzeeessusss out of you "Tribulation" films on 16mm...so our kids can go sleepless for 3 years like we did ::)

Remember that ? Cutting off the saints heads in the parking lot of the church? YIKES>>>> I think that was in a tent on Main and Sale Street when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Old fashioned days or something?

Hey, cuz! Wondered when you'd be on here! I was just planning on bragging on you and the boys tonight to some Assembly Kids (current) from the Midwest who are really into contemporary Christian.

Then I come home and pull out my Tuscola Review and there you guys are on the front page. What's sad is my kids didn't know your kids. I told Austin you were "the cousin who could yo-yo!" He remembered that!

Maybe we'll see you guys at the reunion?

And maybe you'll weigh in on the board with some relevant history, experience and doctrine? ;D

Jars of Clay are touring in the area (illinois) in the middle of next month.  If the Teen and Teachers conference falls thru, i will most likely be going to their concerts on both the 15th and 16th.

You ought to see my cousin (Robert Beasley) play with his FOUR sons aged 4 to 10. They all play instruments, sing, etc.

A good mix of some classical secular rock and contemporary Christian stuff. They travel some on weekends and play at church's, etc.

The name of the band is 4th Normal Form. I'm betting that makes more sense to you than to me!

I'm going to look up their website for later. Very cool family!

Brad, this made me laugh out loud.  I think i still have nightmares about that.  ;D Just kidding.     Those were hard to watch and if fear was the desired result, it was obtained.

Guess we all have that memory in common. ;)

Hi again guys.

The boys and I will be playing in PA on June 21-22, so we won't be able to make it to Tuscola then. Then, we hope to travel down and perform in NC and FL. We'll see if the Lord opens those doors.

Jada, missed you when we were in IL a couple of weekends ago. Saw your mom and Dick. How long has it been? 10, 15 years? How is Olen and the kids?

Scott, didn't see you last time we were in FL (last summer). Mom & Dad hadn't heard from you for awhile then.

Brad! Good to hear from you! Did we all have some great times growing up? Won't mention any names, but we all surely remember certain ones falling asleep during meetings, picking noses, etc. Someone was always making us laugh.

I also remember, VERY EARLY ON, when we kids (i.e., Kerns, Maxeys, Beasleys, maybe you all too) got to sit on the stairs during meetings at the House of Promise. I also remember when we got to lay down on the floor during worship. ;D

My favorite movies of the day? A Thief in the Night & A Distant Thunder. They were SO GOOD, man. Sooooo, how you say, seventiesville. Groovy! Never really lost sleep from them like some of you. I was a LITTLE older (maybe 12 or 13?).

Jennifer, sorry i haven't gotten back to you yet.  We have been busy.  Leah is still homeschooled and Ryan has been sick.  He had bronchitis {sp?} for a week and then was well for a couple of days and now has started to relapse.  rutsa frutsa. >:(       So, time for antibiotics, which i don't like to do.    Anyway....... give me another call if is don't get back to you soon.  I'm not ignoring you, really.  I DO want to talk to you. :)

Hey Jada! Sorry for the slow reply - I haven't been on the bulletin board in a few days.   I'm in Denver - been here since 1995.  Before that I was in NYC for 7 years.  I'm married (4 years), no kids, 3 pets.  ;D    How & where are your brother & sister?  Tell them I said "hello!"  

Like Mark said, we should be there in June - won't that be a hoot???!!!  Cindy & Kellie - can't wait to see you guys - it's been too long.  Wish we could've been there for Thxgiving (we had a wedding in New York the week before) - Wil said he misses that cheeseball that Cindy makes - tee hee.

I do not know if any one is interested but Josh Dodorico is getting married may 24 and if anyone who knows me is interested in coming to the STL to witness this awesome occason e mail me at besthands1@earthlink.net. This is my fiances e mail address but i check it a lot. I have been doing very well. I pretty much left the assembly 6 or 7 years ago because I was a outkast. I feel this was the lords way of protecting me. It enabled me to get out of the "shelter" and see the world for what it is.
 I am planning on getting married then moving to florida where I plan to flourish with my dj service. Thats right I said dj service. I am living proof that this assembly could not completely stifle our natural musical talent.
I used to dj at raves and partys a lot but just like everything else in the world that got old. So I decided to make my music have a meaning. I changed from techno and jungle to the sweet encouraging sound of christian reggae and hip hop.
Well since i have done that all kinds of doors have been opening up. that is why I am moving to florida to pursue a ch ance to get on a MAJOR christian record label called lion of zion entertainment(do a search on the net and youll be pleasantly surprised) with my best friend who is also my best man.
So if you guys or gals want to see me before i split get ahold of me through the net

Great to hear from everyone.  This is my first time on the bulletin board.  Seems like everyone is doing great.

Mark, Mindy, Mia - couldn't forget you guys, especially after the one time my parents went to California for a seminar and my brother and I stayed at your house & slept in Mark's room - kinda' a fond memory.

Scott - like i posted to you, I tentatively plan to be there, depends on my three boys and my wife.  But, if things get hectic with my 2 month old, I can always take him to my parents house to relax.  My parents and Mike's family will be in Sarasota the week prior to the 21st.

Josh, congrats. I assume you are a son of Rudy Dodorico (or at least are related to him somehow). I knew him from his occasional stint as the leader at the UMSL Bible study. I also knew his daughter (whose name now escapes me) who I believe married Daniel Grant.

Nah, there was another Dodorico that was overlooked  :) Gus Dodorico is Josh's father as well as mine.

Rudy has four daughters, one of which is married to Daniel Grant. Jennifer had a child last year if I remember correctly.

Josh now has a child, Tirzah Joy Dodorico and lives in St. Augustine, Florida.
