Thank You Joe!
The saddest part of your testimony to me was the fact that there were so many very good folks involved in the group who were led astray. Many of these individuals were well intentioned and sought to serve the Lord sincerely.
Even the best Christians can get off-track from time to time, but in the Assembly there were no means to entreat leaders re. issues of teaching or practice. All attempts at entreaty were rejected as, "divisive, worldly, carnal, devilish, etc." Wisdom that comes from above is easy to be entreated, while GG and Assembly leaders were impossible to entreat; they just would not accept criticism.
Though damage did occur to members it doesn't mean it has to destroy their faith or render them ineffective in their service for Christ. There is an opporutnity to understand what was wrong with the teaching/practices and learn some important lessons. I think those who learn these lessons can be a special blessing to other gatherings of believers.
Thanks for posting your testimony. God Bless, Mark
