[Dear Marcia:

Caught myself staring at your penguins again.

I thought about how the 'whacker' looks straight ahead, and then gives his
'buddy' or 'brother' or 'sister' the blow and then doesn't pause to look about
the consequences.

Familiar?

Thanks, by the way, when I was in Ottawa, I remember you coming up to me and
saying 'your prayer encouraged me' or 'it's exciting to see what the Lord's
doing on the campus'.  I don't remember Nancy ever doing that. Ever.  She was
the penguin standing tall, looking the other way so as not to draw attention to
herself.  Waving to others with one of her pretty hands and wacking me and
others with the other.

Here ends the parable of the penguins

Amen

Neat!  You should post your 'meaning' and 'application' on the BB.  I'm sure the
others will enjoy it.

Love you,
Marcia

In think one penguin is saying to the other, "are you rejoicing?" as he slaps him on the back.  If the 2nd penguin replies, "under the circumstances" then the first penguin says, "what are you doing under the circumstances?"

Delila,

Your description is exactly the way I felt when looking at Marcia's penguins.  For a good chuckle though, I have imagined myself the "standing tall" penguin, slapping the leadership on the back into the drink.

...one penguin is saying to the other, "are you rejoicing?" as he slaps him on the back.  If the 2nd penguin replies, "under the circumstances" then the first penguin says, "what are you doing under the circumstances?"

The one penguin approaches the LP (Leading Penguin) to ask for encouragement because he is bummed.  The LP slaps him down for not rejoicing, then asks him what he's doing under the circumstances (of which the ice is a "type"). Cry

Yes, but in a perfect penguin place, this would be proposterous!

Peace, penguins

I think that the penguin that keeps getting put down by the LP must have a huge goose egg penguin egg on the back of its head by now! Cry
