Jesus, price-less treasure! Source of purest pleasure Truest Friend to me. Long my heart had panted, 'Til it well nigh fainted, Thirsting after Thee! Thine I am most spotless Lamb, I would suffer naught to hide Thee, Ask for none beside Thee!

Lord's Day December 12th at 9:54 pm Arnprior.
THE OLD TESTAMENT IN A NUT SHELL
In Genesis the word was made by God's creative hand; In Exodus the Hebrews marched to greet the Promised Land; Leviticus contains the Law, holy, just and good; Numbers records the tribes enrolled-all sons of Abraham's blood; Moses, in Deuteronomy, records God's mighty deeds; Brave Joshua into Canaan's Land the host of Israel leads; In Judges their rebellion oft provokes the Lord to smite; But Ruth recalls the Faith of one well pleasing in His sight; In 1st and 2nd Samuel of Jesse's son we read; Ten Tribes in 1st and 2nd Kings revolted from his seed; The 1st and 2nd Chronicles see Judah captive made; But Ezra leads a remnant back by princely Cyrus' aid. The city walls of Zion Nehemiah builds again; While Esther saves her people from plots of wicked men; In Job we read how faith will live beneath afflictions rod; And in Psalms are precious songs for every child of God; The Proverbs like a goodly string of choicest Pearls appear; Ecclesiastes teaches man how vain are all things here; The mystic Song of Solomon exalts sweet Sharon's Rose; While Christ the King and Saviour the rapt Isaiah shows. The warning of Jeremiah apostate Israel scorns, His plaintive Lamentations their awful downfall mourns; Ezekiel tells wondrous words of dazzling mysteries; While Kings and Empires yet to come, Daniel in vision sees. Of judgement and of mercy Hosea loves to tell; Joel describes the blessed days when God with man shall dwell; Among Tekoa's herdsman Amos received his call; While Obadiah prophesies of Edom's final fall; Jonah enshires a wondrous type of Christ our risen Lord; Micah pronounces Judah lost - lost, but again restored; Nahum declares on Nineveh just judgement shall be poured; A view of Chaldeans coming down, Habakkuk's vision gives; Next Zephaniah warns the Jews to turn, repent and live, Haggai wrote of those who saw the temple built again And Zechariah prophesied of Christ's triumphant reign; Malachi was last who touched the prophetic chord; Its final note sublimely show the Coming of the Lord.

A HYMN ON THE NATIVITY OF MY SAVIOUR
I SING THE BIRTH Was born tonight The Author of both life and light. The angels so did sound it. And like the ravished shepherd said, Who saw the light, and were afraid, Yet searched, and true they found it.
The Son of God 'th Eternal King That did us all salvation bring, And freed our soul from danger; He whom the whole world could not take, The Word, which heaven and eath did make, Was now laid in a manger.
The Father's wisdom willed it so, The Son's obedience knew no No, Both wills were one in stature. And as that wisdom had decreed, The Word was now made flesh indeed, And took on HIm our nature,
What comfort by Him do we win, Who made Himself the price of sin, To make us heirs of glory! To see this Babe all innocence, A martyr born in our defence, Can man forget this story?

Great song, Marcia - that one heated up the cassette player in my car for a long time.
Check out Margaret Becker's new disc, "Faithfully Yours - Psalms." Ten Psalms of praise, seeking forgiveness, and rejoicing in the Lord. I am enjoying how they bring Psalms 40, 50, 51, and - my favorite, 86 - to life.
"Call on me in the day of trouble and I will rescue you." (Psalm 50:15)
Selah!

Hello everyone , how are you been, did you have a good refreshing New Years.
I am trying my hand at poetry. I am going to share my attempt with you, remember it is abit rough and my english grammar may off. I am creating a Winter Contest for the Sunday School time at my church. This is part of idea I am working on. Before I present the ideas I am trying with the example:
What do you think? =======================================
JOURNEY OF PAUL - THE CHRISTIAN GOSPEL TRAIL
SONG WRITING/POEM CREATION
There was a man name Saul Who journey to be called Paul
A journey who took him wide and near For a God he did fear
A Gospel message he did take With Christian letters he did make
For unto the people of the Gentiles Where sinners ground was very fertile
Travelling many miles he did go When God call , he didn't say no
Fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers Many in churches gathered together
Learn , grow and encourage Gain in strength and courage
Paul went from place to place Difficult times he did face
Continue to even unto prison Obeying as opportunity arisen
Keeping God's people walking on track By teaching them Biblical facts
To God, Paul gave all he got With all his life , with all that he fought
Paul received the rewards he did send Eternal home way in heaven

:)FEBRUARY 22
EVERYTHING
As I awoke to the beginning of a brand new day It seemed like a waves of trials kept coming my way, Problem after problem was all I could see, I cried out, "Lord, what is it you want from me?"
The answer that came from the One Most High, Was nothing but a very simple reply, It was one unexpected, but yet rang so true, It's something He desires from me and from you.
HE SAID, 'EVERYTHING'
I want you to know ME as your SAVIOUR and GUIDE, The One who will always be right there at your side, I want you to serve ME through the good times and bad, To sing praises to MY NAME whether you're happy or sad.
I want your faith to grow stronger as each day goes by, To TRUST ME when there's no answers to your questions of "WHY?" To learn of MY LOVE and to feel MY EMBRACE, When you're called to endure the hardships you face.
I want no one or nothing to take MY PLACE in your heart, In whatever you should do, I want to take part, Stand on MY PROMISES, let nothing cause you doubt, In the end you will see that all things will work out.
So you see, MY DEAR CHILD, I want to be YOUR ALL IN ALL, To DEPEND ON MY PRESENCE when you stand or when you fall, When you question just what is it that I want from thee? MY ANSWER IS 'EVERYTHING', as you are EVERYTHING TO ME.

LORD, LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN
Author: Ken Medema
Chorus: LORD, LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN PRAYING, LORD, SEND YOUR SPIRIT IN THIS PLACE; LORD, LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN PRAYING, SEND US LOVE, SEND US POW'R, SEND US GRACE.
Verse 1: Something's gonna happen like the word has never known, When the people of the Lord get down to pray; A door's gonna swing open, and the walls come atumbling down, When the people of the Lord Get down to pray
Verse 2: He's gonna take over, He's gonna take control, WHen the people of the Lord get down to pray; He's gonna move the mountain He's gonna make the waters roll WHen the people of the Lord get down to pray.
Verse 3: You're gonna know it when the Lord stretches out His hand When the people of the Lord get down to pray There's gonna be a brand new song of victory in this land When the people of the Lord get down to pray

Like a foolish dreamer trying to build a highway to the sky, All my hopes would come tumbling down, and I never new just why, Until today, when you pulled away the clouds that hung like curtains on my eyes, Well I've been blind all these wasted years and I thought I was so wise, But then you took me by surprise.
Like waking up from the longest dream, how real it seemed, until your love broke through, I've been lost in a fantasy, that blinded me, Until your love broke through.
All my life I've been seaching for that crazy missing part, And with one touch, you rolled away the stone that held my heart, And now I see that the answer was as easy, as just asking you in, And I am so sure I could never doubt your gentle touch again, It's like the power of the wind.
Like waking up from the longest dream, how real it seamed, until your love broke through, I've been lost in a fantasy, that blinded me, Until your love broke through.'

Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
The words are filled with profound and sarcastic contempt. They are directed at the Lord of Glory. How strange, that in these words there is tacit acknowledgement that He did indeed save others, but for those mocking and deriding Him, that proves insufficient basis for their believing in Him. For that, they require that He save Himself...! It is certainly revealing is it not? It is amazing to consider that these events, taking place on the fourteenth of Nissan, which was instituted as the first Hebrew calendar month at the Passover in Egypt, are all taking place exactly in accordance with what has been foreordained of the Supreme Ruler of the universe, Almighty God. On this remarkable day, in accordance with the prophetic Scriptures, God's Paschal lamb was sacrificed in complete fulfillment of the OT type forwshadowed on that distant Egyptian night. Those sheltering under the shadow of His wings, are covered from the certain wrath to come. I remember with grateful heart, and love overflowing, that Himself He did not save...!

MARCH 26: HI EVERYONE: FOUND THIS BEAUTIFUL POEM ON THE WEB. I was searching for Easter Poem, this is one beautiful one I found. The author name is on the bottom of it.
Called: THE MASTER'S ROSE
The Master had a garden Filled with flowers everywhere Each day he'd water, feed and prune He'd tend each rose with care.
And as he'd walk by each flower, His face shone with delight, His eyes would glow his heart would sing; They were a lovely sight.
But back in one dark corner A lonely rosebud stood The water couldn't reach it It was weak with want of food.
The rays of sunlight never touched its face Its warmth it cold not feel And soon the lack took its toll And the rosebud could not heal.
It slowly began to wither Its color began to wane This rosebud would never blossom Destined to die in lonely pain.
One day the Master was strolling Through his garden grand and bright, When he noticed in the corner A small pathetic sight.
The single, withered rosebud Its head bowed low in shame For it had brought no pleasure And felt it was to blame.
But the master with his loving hands Began to tend the rose He watered, fed, and pruned it And spoke in sweet repose.
He cleared a path for sunshine So its warmth the rose would feel, And around the small and weakened stem Was placed the master's seal.
The rose began to bud again Its flower rich and lush And soon the single rosebud Became a glorious bush
The master made a special place And put the rosebush there Its blossoms glistened with beauty Its fragrance filled the air.
And each day as the master Would relish in its rebirth The rosebush bowed in loving gratitude For the master gave it worth.

O love, that wilt not let me go I rest my weary sould in Thee I give the back the life I owe That in Thy ocean's depths its flow May richer, fuller be!Have you ever wondered why the Bible does not say by one woman, sin came upon all men? After alll Eve was the first one to take the "apple" was she not? The operation of the will is guided by the affections. You will choose, based on what you love most. Sin is entirely a matter of the heart! If ye love me, keep my commandments.I was going to say this at a later time but I need to take some time off so here is an excercise for all in the meantime. Open your Bibles and starting with Genesis, check how many times the word commandment is coupled with the word l ove and you will have the answer. Would you post each instance? God richly bless and keep!Verne
