Hello folks!

I am happy to announce  that I am engaged to be married to a wonderful man I met here in New York! Grin

Does anyone have any funny "Assembly engagement" stories they'd like to share?  How do engagements function in one of GG's groups?

I want to congratulate you and wish you the best.  You are so fortunate to be able to go through this process OUTSIDE of the assembly.  The control that goes on in the engagement/marriage process is DISGUSTING!  It is completely controlled by the leading brothers (mostly through their wives.)

I could go on and on with stories, but I would rather rejoice with Eulaha and put the past in the past and forget it.

One of these days, I would like to have a renewal of my marriage vows and conduct my wedding the way I would have liked to have it done.

Suzie and I did this in 2001.  It was excellent.  I highly recommend that ex-assembly people do this, especially if they have had some significant changes in their thinking since leaving.  We loved our second wedding even more than the first!

Congratulations, Eulaha!

May the Lord bless your marriage and heal your wounds from the assembly.
